So, many of you know that my Macbook is old. Actually, it's the oldest model of the Macbook. I'm not sure you can even purchase this anymore. Many of you also know that my laptop gives me a lot of grief. What would normally take someone 2 hours to write a process recording or 6 hours to write a paper is actually doubled because my laptop just sucks that much. Don't even ask how long it takes to do something simple like making a blog post.
I've been saying for the last year or so that I need a new laptop because this one is dying on me.
Well, folks, today was the straw. In my great anger against my current laptop, I have vowed tonight (after a frustrating day) to get a new laptop. What was holding me back before was that I am broke. Yes, we're all broke, I know...but I am really broke. But like I said, I am irate at this point.
Therefore, I will angrily and stubbornly fast one meal a day, not for religious purposes, but for monetary accruement in order to purchase this very much needed computer. I normally hate spending unnecessarily, but I have definitely reached the point where a new laptop is not just a "want" anymore but an actual "need." I have wasted too many hours (probably added up to be days or weeks) staring at a rainbow spinner or restarting my computer.
Oh yeah, and I'm throwing alcohol into the mix. Not because I drink all that much but because I tend to pay for people/take people out a lot.
So hopefully in a few weeks I'll have saved up enough for a new, functioning laptop.
And yes, I will become a lot more frugal and stingy. Deal with it :)

my new apartment! not.
Most of you who know me know that I love looking at apartments in New York. While most people loathe the apartment-hunting process, I [relatively] enjoy it. I am a Craigslist addict. In my free time, I just look at listings and pictures (on Craigslist and on other real estate sites), judging and dreaming. I stalk the listings of various individual brokers, compare and contrast, bargain and bargain some more, etc.
Folks, I'd like to say that I have found THE apartment. It is gorgeous, it is unique enough, and it is...$25 million dollars.
Sad. Face.
It's not even Manhattan! It's DUMBO! But check out the pictures and you'll totally get where I am coming from:

sad panda wishlist.
I didn't think I'd touch my blog for 2 weeks. But I need a break from critiquing child support subsidies and figuring out tax credits for NCPs.
That time of the year is coming around again...the time of the year when everyone gets a little more jolly, lovers get a little more snuggly, and I get just a little bit older.
I can't remember the last time I made a legit wishlist (but believe you me, I made them all the time in middle school and early high school -- like 10 years ago...) but this year, I'm reviving The Wishlist.
The only tangible-item things I really want this year are:
1. A new Macbook (because I'm seriously about to be computerless in 2010).
2. A compact point & shoot camera.
3. 3-tier Minnetonka boots (because my fake ones are getting gross).
Anything else is unnecessary.
Sadly, they're not really practical for people to get for me ($$$) so I think I'm going to have to do without for another year and just keep paying my overpriced rent and my overpriced tuition. And occasionally a $1.29 sandwich at Wendy's to keep myself alive.

all i want for christmas/my birthday...
is a new Mac. Or at least for my Mac to not die.
I've had mine for almost 4+ years now and it is clearly dying. Unfortunately, between paying for rent & paying for tuition (I've cut out eating, essentially), I have no money to purchase a new laptop. I've been heavily debating if I would be able to survive without a computer if -- God forbid -- my Mac dies on me.
Here's a picture of it 4 years ago when Calvin first gave it to me:

Don't mind the idiot text -- I was going through a phase with my photos-in-blog.
This is all I want this year. More than my entire Urban Outfitters or Amazon wishlist; more than a new lens for my dSLR or even a Polaroid/Fuji Instax. I just need my Mac to not die. Please don't die.

taylor momsen.

For a chick who isn't even legal to get her license in New York, she rocks some must-have (and will-have) jeans.
