stolen from Nylon: quiz time!

Taken from Nylon's blog, here's a short quiz for y'all this weekend:

1. This Thanksgiving, I ate too much _________.

2. The movie we watched (on TV or at the cinema) was ________.

3. I think “Black Friday” is lame but I still really want to buy ____________.

4. The celeb I’d most want at Thanksgiving dinner is ___________.

5. The song I play when I’m finally alone without all the guests and relatives around is __________.

My answers:

1. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies // marshmallow chocolate chip cookies.

2. Got UP, went to my parents', and made my mom watch it with me :)

3. A Lumix LX 3 or a Canon SD780is. And a good pair of black leather boots.

4. Emma Thompson. She's classy, she's like that nice aunt or relative that you actually like, and I wouldn't mind stuffing my face at the Thanksgiving table in front of her (as opposed to, say, Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Sendhil Ramamurthy.)

5. Everything from the Broadway musical soundtrack of Hairspray...or That Thing You Do by the Wonders.

Leave your answers too :)

backtrack: gallery bar, november 19.

BEATCAKES PRESENTS GREEN STREET & DJ YEHO.o 11/19!! from Beatcakes on Vimeo.

For those of you who missed it Thursday night, there were indeed glowsticks and cupcakes. The cupcakes were pretty delicious too.
I almost didn't go but fortunately my roommate dragged me downtown to the LES. Not only were the performances fresh and the people chill, but the venue (Gallery Bar) is definitely a spot to hit up. Art gallery by day, lounge by night.

Once I have time (& patience) to upload my own pictures, I definitely will. But in the meantime, I'll leave you with some stolen photos from Green Street Records, courtesy of CMCstyles photography.

pit stop.

Do you ever look at yourself and wonder
how you got to where you are
or how you became the way that you are?
Because you know that at one point,
you weren't here and you weren't this way.

Isn't it a daunting feeling when you realize that there exist people out there
that not only have the ability to make you feel so very small
but that when they do exercise that ability,
it actually affects your being.

How did we get here?
& when did we start caring so much?

all i want for christmas/my birthday...

is a new Mac. Or at least for my Mac to not die.

I've had mine for almost 4+ years now and it is clearly dying. Unfortunately, between paying for rent & paying for tuition (I've cut out eating, essentially), I have no money to purchase a new laptop. I've been heavily debating if I would be able to survive without a computer if -- God forbid -- my Mac dies on me.

Here's a picture of it 4 years ago when Calvin first gave it to me:

Don't mind the idiot text -- I was going through a phase with my photos-in-blog.

This is all I want this year. More than my entire Urban Outfitters or Amazon wishlist; more than a new lens for my dSLR or even a Polaroid/Fuji Instax. I just need my Mac to not die. Please don't die.

Oh yeah, I guess it is pretty nice down there.
I feel like it's far from everythinggg though.

highest stress for lowest pay.

CNN and The Consumerist think that my field of work sucks.
I don't think it sucks, really...
but they aren't inaccurate.
Sighhh.
