snow day = sytycd clips.
I woke up this morning at 7:00am to go to work but discovered a ton of texts (followed by a call from my director) about work being closed due to the blizzarding weather.
This is the first time pretty much ever that I have a free Friday (except for holiday and summer breaks). I've never bummed so much before. I spent the morning looking for internships and doing some reading. Around 11:00am, Mallory woke up and we just bummed together. Then darling Esther Lee dropped by (surprise!) and made lunch for us with Jeannie. Figs stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped with onions and bacon? DELISH.
After being a true fatty-at-heart, I spent the entire afternoon not reading my African history book. Instead, I watched YouTube videos. But they're so good! I promise.
Who doesn't love this song?! Nostalgia, hardcore.
Warning: this one is uber sad.
Amusing/theatrical!
Love it. Need to dance.

noteworthy (from berkley): poker face.
In the middle of my weekly supervision meeting with the director of my agency, she stopped, told me to hold on, called all interns and workers into her office via intercom, and showed us this:
We finished our meeting after everyone laughed and left.

backtrack: gallery bar, november 19.
BEATCAKES PRESENTS GREEN STREET & DJ YEHO.o 11/19!! from Beatcakes on Vimeo.
For those of you who missed it Thursday night, there were indeed glowsticks and cupcakes. The cupcakes were pretty delicious too.
I almost didn't go but fortunately my roommate dragged me downtown to the LES. Not only were the performances fresh and the people chill, but the venue (Gallery Bar) is definitely a spot to hit up. Art gallery by day, lounge by night.
Once I have time (& patience) to upload my own pictures, I definitely will. But in the meantime, I'll leave you with some stolen photos from Green Street Records, courtesy of CMCstyles photography.

empire state of mind: improved.
Green Street & Malado, live @ Webster Hall.
If you look closely enough, you just might catch a glimpse of A-Town and Bejohnce busting it out. That's how they do it down south.
Oh, and Mallory (sorry, she has yet to gain a spiffy name).

90's dance party!!!

WORD ON THE STREET IS THAT BOWERY POETRY CLUB IS HOSTING A 90'S PROM THEME DANCE PARTY -- you know what that means: BSB, Spice Girls, Limp Bizkit, and the rest of the fabulous 90's rock, pop, & hip hop. And y'all know how I'm a 90's music fan.
AND rumor also has it that Green Street may be gracing the venue with their presence and performance that night...so go out & support them.
Details can be found on the site or, better yet, the Facebook event invite.
Sunday, September 6th @ 10:00pm
$5, but if you dress up in 90's gear (& you know I will be there in my light-wash jeans & flannel get-up) it's only $3.
See you there, all grunged up perhaps!
Public Service Announcement: If you plan on going to the party, mention that you're on A-Live's or Ani's list.
